The City of Genoa and the Association dedicated to Giovanni Bottesini, the “Paganini of the doublebass", signed an agreement to strengthen national and international promotion of the Premio Paganini.

At a press conference yesterday in Milan officials presented the 9th edition of the Portofino International Opera Competition (CLIP). Mr Francesco Micheli, a member of the Premio Paganini Committee, was present on behalf of the historic Genoese competition. The 9th edition of CLIP, which will take place on 17th-23th of July in Genoa, Camogli and Portofino, will also feature the extraordinary participation of Giuseppe Gibboni. In the main square of Portofino, Gibboni, accompanied by the Opera Carlo Felice Orchestra conducted by Alessandro Bonato, Giuseppe Gibboni on violin, Juliàn Medina on doublebass and the winner of the 9th edition of CLIP will perform together for the first time. The CLIP winner will be chosen by a Jury chaired by Dominique Meyer, Superintendent of Teatro La Scala in Milan, of which the Superintendent of Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Claudio Orazi, will be a member, too..
