Yesterday, the book ‘Paganini e … Livorno’ by Massimo Signorini, published by Sillabe, was presented at Palazzo Doria Carcassi. President of the Paganini Prize, Giovanni Panebianco, and Councilor Barbara Grosso greeted the audience, and thanked the speakers. Those in attendance at the first event held in the new headquarter of the Paganini Prize, inaugurated this past February 27, included young students from the Istituto Pertini and the Conservatory of Music Niccolò Paganini.
The author explained his research, conducted over the past eight years, which has allowed him to reconstruct, thanks to sources uncovered in archives and library collections in Livorno, the concert performances given by Paganini during his stay in that city. The presentation was punctuated by musical intervals performed by guitarist Michele Greci, who played 3 ‘Ghirbizzo’ nn. 41, 43, 20, and ‘Il Paganini Virtuoso’ - Andantino Variato; and violinist Marco Fornaciari, a finalist of the XXII edition of the Paganini Prize in 1975, who played two Capricci, n. 6 and 14.
