Violinist Jaewon Wee recently won the First & Audience Prizes at the Washington International Competition, Dallas International Violin Competition, and the YSAYE International Violin Competition.
Jaewon was also awarded the Second & Special Prizes at the George Enescu International Competition. She made her New York debut in Lincoln Center, Alice Tully Hall, in 2019, performing Prokofiev's Second Concerto with The Juilliard Orchestra as a winner of the Concerto Competition. She has appeared with world-renowned orchestras as a soloist, including George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, New World Philharmonic Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra, San José Chamber Orchestra, Dallas Chamber Symphony Orchestra, and Palermo Symphony Orchestra. Jaewon has attended Verbier Festival (Academy Soloist), Great Mountains (PyeongChang) Music Festival (fellowship), Aspen Music Festival (fellowship), and many others.
Graduate of the Korea National University of Arts (BM, Nam Yun Kim and Koichiro Harada), The Juilliard School (MM, Ronald Copes), and the New England Conservatory (GD, Donald Weilerstein), she begins her Artist Diploma studies with Cho-Liang Lin at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music this fall.
