Anna Tifu

Winner in 2007 of the prestigious George Enescu international competition in Bucharest, Anna Tifu is considered one of the best performers of her generation. Born in Cagliari, she began studying the violin at the age of six under the guidance of her father and playing in public at the age of 8, winning the first prize with a Special Mention of Merit at the Vittorio Review. At the age of eleven, she made her debut as a soloist with the Orchestra National des Pays de la Loire and the following year, at the age of 12, she made her debut at La Scala in Milan with Max Bruch's Concerto n.1. At the age of fourteen she wins 1st prize at the Viotti Valsesia International Competition and in the same year she wins 1st prize at the M.Abbado International Competition in Stresa. She graduated at the age of fifteen at the Cagliari Conservatory with full marks and the Honorable Mention. She studied with Salvatore Accardo at the Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona and later at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena where, in 2004, obtained the Diploma of Honor. She was admitted, at the age of 17, to the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia where she studied with Aaron Rosand, Shmuel Ashkenazy and Pamela Frank and later she specialized in Paris where she obtained a higher diploma as a concert performer.

She has performed with some of the most prestigious National and International Orchestras such as the National Orchestra of Santa Cecilia, National Orchestra of RAI of Turin, Orchestra of the Arena di Verona Foundation, Orchestra of the Carlo Felice Theater of Genoa, Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Haydn of Bolzano and Trento, Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice of Venice, Simòn Bòlivar Orchestra of Venezuela, Stuttgarter Philarmoniker, Dortmunder Philharmoniker, George Enescu Philarmonic Orchestra and Radio Orchestra of Bucharest, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, Munich chamber Orchestra, KZN Philharmonic of Durban, Israel Philharmonic soloists, Prague chamber Orchestra, Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and alongside important conductors, including Yuri Temirkanov, Gustavo Dudamel, Diego Matheuz, David Afkham, Juraj Valcuha, John Axelrod, Christoph Poppen, Justus Frantz, Cristian Mandeal, Horia Andreescu, Sergiu Commissiona, Lü Jia, Giampaolo Bisanti, Julian Kovatchev, Hubert Soudant , Gèrard Korsten, Gabor Ötvös.

Tifu play the violin Antonio Stradivari “Marèchal Berthier” 1716 ex Napoleon of the Fondazione Canale in Milan.
