Bogodar Kotorovych was born in Poland and spent his childhood and youth in Lviv (Ukraine). In 1969 he finished his education in the Moscow State Conservatory. He is the Prize-winner of the International violin competitions - "Enescu" in Romania (1967) and second classified at the "Premio Paganini" in Italy (1971). Since 1967 Kotorovych has started to teach in Kiev State Conservatory. Simultaneously he gives a lot of concerts. He successfully toured in Germany, Canada, Italy, Holland, France, South Korea, Australia, Great Britain, Bulgaria and Denmark.

In 1985 he was honoured by the State Prize of Ukraine.

Since 1988 he has often been a Jury member at International Contests such as: "Premio Paganini", "Premio Rodolfo Lipizer" (Gorizia), "Carl Nielsen Prize" (Odense), "Wronski Prize" (Warsaw) and "Tchaikovsky Prize" (Moscow). In 1994 he worked as an invited Professor at the Conservatory of Sydney.

In 1995 he founded the International Contest for young violinists in Kharkiv (Ukraine). This competition has already become a tradition among Ukrainian young musicians.

In 1999, he held two concerts in Kiev with the famous "Cannone", the violin that belonged to Niccolò Paganini. These two concerts, that were held in the best halls of Kiev, were a real triumph of the Ukrainian Maestro. As a result of his activity in 1999-2000 he has twice received the prize "Person of the Year".

Since 1995 Bogodar Kotorovych has been the Artistic Director and Chief of the State Chamber Ensemble "Kyiov Soloists" that consists of the best young musicians of Ukraine, Laureates of International Contests.
