Daniel Roehn was born on August 24th, 1979 in Mora (Sweden). He started to play violin very young under his father’s guidance, also a violinist and pupil of Henryk Szeryng. Daniel Roehn attended the Munich Music School, where he graduated with distinction in 2000. He performed in Germany as a soloist accompanied by the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, by the Munich Symphony Orchestra and by the Bavarian Radio Orchestra; he also played both in the United States and in Europe.

In 1998 he won the first prize in the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Competition (Germany). He recorded for various German radio stations (among which BR, HR, WDR) and Radio France in Paris. He also recorded the Mendelssohn Concerto for the Swiss label Claves. In 2002 he played and conducted the Brahms Concerto at the Lucerne Culture Congress Centre.

He has toured with the Geneva Chamber Orchestra and the Cannes Orchestra and has appeared on Swedish Television in a Recital in Stockholm. His repertoire encompasses most works of the standard violin literature and essential composers from the XX century. The violin being used by Daniel Roehn is a Brothers Amati, 1617 Cremona, kindly lent by the “Stradivari Society” of Chicago.
