Violinist MinJae Kim began studying violin at age of three in her native Korea, where she took active part in an array of various musical activities. She won first prize in three major competition in Korea: The Dong-A Daily Newspaper Music Competition, The Joong-Ang Music Competition and Pusan MBC Music Competition. Ms. Kim also has performed as a soloist with top orchestras including the Korean Broadcasting Orchestra, the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, the Seoul Symphony Orchestra, the Pusan Symphony Orchestra, the Seoul Academy Symphony Orchestra, and the Sophia State Orchestra, as well as giving solo recitals as a part of a series of ’Young Artist Concert’ managed by ’Kumho Group’ and ’Jeunesse Musicals’ throughout Korea.
MinJae Kim earned a Bachelor of Music Degree at the Korean National University of Arts, School of Music at age of 20 where she studied with Prof. Nam Yun Kim and was subsequently accepted into the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland, where she earned her Master of Music Degree as a student of Prof. Victor Danchenko. She also has benefited from lessons with Prof. Atis Bankas and masterclasses with many great artists including Ida Haendel, Edward Grach, Aaron Rosand, Zakhar Bron, Yfrah Neaman, Itzhak Rashkovsky, Hyo Kang, and Goichiro Harada. She has performed in numerous concert halls including the Sydney Opera House, Lincoln Center, and the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center. She also has given solo performances in countries around the world including Japan, Australia, Italy, Israel, Holland, Germany and throughout the United States.
