Born in Seoul, where she began to study violin with Nam Yun Kim, she moved in 1994 to the United States where she studied at the Juilliard School of Music, at the Indiana University in Bloomington and at the New England Conservatory in Boston. Among her teachers were Hyo Kang and Dorothy DeLay; she is currently studying with Miriam Fried and Paul Biss.
Since 2000 she has performed in recitals and concerts at the Verbier Festival (Switzerland), Marlboro Festival (U.S.A), Kronberg Festival (Germany) with Gidon Kremer and Yuri Bashmet.
She toured as soloist in the framework of the ECHO (European Concert Hall Organization) concert series performing in the most famous European concert venues.
She also performed in Tokyo with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Mikhail Pletnev; in Seoul with the Korean Symphony under Myung-Whun Chung and in New York with the New Philharmonic under the direction of Lorin Maazel.
She has been awarded the second prize at the Paganini Competition receiving by the Municipality of Genoa the amount of € 10,000.
