A bilateral meeting between Genoa Mayor Marco Bucci and a delegation led by the mayor of the Chinese city of Guangzhou, Sun Zhiyang, was held this morning at the mayor's office in Palazzo Tursi. Also present were Port Councillor Francesco Maresca and Deputy Councilor Barbara Grosso.During the meeting, which was preceded by a visit to the Paganini Rooms, it was agreed to intensify exchanges between the municipalities of Genoa and Guangzhou on the topics of economic development, port, with particular reference to the blue economy and shipping, culture and the Paganini Prize.

In this regard, yesterday the Doria Carcassi Palace, home of the prestigious Paganini Prize, hosted a delegation from the Guangzhou Municipality. To welcome Ms. CHEN Yan and Ms. WU Xiaoyan, respectively Deputy Director of International Relations and Deputy Director of Consular Affairs of International Relations of the Guangzhou Municipality, two members of the Paganini Prize Committee, delegated by President Giovanni Panebianco, Dr. Enrico De Barbieri and Maestro Roberto Tagliamacco, Director of the Conservatorio Niccolò Paganini in Genoa. After visiting the rich photo gallery and the halls of the venue, the two guests signed the book of honour. The meeting confirmed the desire to continue the valuable synergy between the Paganini Prize and the Chinese Municipality, which also hosted the pre-selections for the 57th edition of the competition last April.
