Ana Chumachenco

Ana Chumachenco was born in Italy. She has Russian origin and German and Argentine nationalities. She began studying the violin under her father's guidance and later with Ljerko Spiller in Buenos Aires. At the age of 17, she came back to Europe to continue her studies, earning the Gold Medal at the Carl Flesch Violin Competition in London and the Silver Medal at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. Her musical mentors during those years were Yehudi Menuhin, Joseph Szigeti and Sandor Vegh, among others.
In addition to her brilliant solo career, she has devoted much time and energy to chamber music, particularly as a member of the “Munich String Trio,” where she played for over twenty years.

🎶 She has been a long-time violin professor at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich and the Kronberg Academy, shaping numerous violinists who have gone on to have highly successful careers. She currently teaches at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia in Madrid and gives a masterclass at the Accademia Perosi in Biella.
Ana Chumachenco is regularly invited to serve as a jury member for the world’s most prestigious violin competitions, such as the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels and the Sibelius Competition in Helsinki.
