Dates Announced for the Preselection Rounds of the 58th Premio Paganini International Violin Competition

The 58th Premio Paganini International Violin Competition is officially underway. The calendar for the Preselection Rounds, scheduled between April and May 2025, has been announced.

The first round will take place in Genoa, Niccolò Paganini’s birthplace, followed by stops in Asia, with auditions in Guangzhou, China, and Seoul, South Korea. The competition will then move to New York, before concluding in Europe with the final preselection round in Berlin.

Preselection Calendar:
    •    Genoa: April 3 - 5, 2025
    •    Guangzhou: April 11 - 13, 2025
    •    Seoul: April 15 - 17, 2025
    •    New York: April 28 - 30, 2025
    •    Berlin: May 6 - 8, 2025

Based on logistical and organizational requirements, as well as the geographical distribution of applicants, the Competition reserves the right to make final and binding decisions regarding the preselection venues. Candidates admitted to the Preselection Rounds will receive an email with specific details about the location, date, and time.

Applications for the Competition will remain open until February 11, 2025. The final list of candidates admitted to the Preselection Rounds will be published on the official Premio Paganini website (www.premiopaganini.it) by February 25, 2025.

The Preselection Rounds will determine up to 24 violinists who will compete in Genoa from October 14 to 26, 2025, for the prestigious Premio Paganini.
