Born in New Jersey, she trained at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia with Aaron Rosand and Cho-Liang Lin. She has placed first in national violin competitions and, in 2008, won 3rd prize at the International Violin Competition "Benjamin Britten" in London. She has attended numerous master classes with Pamela Frank, Elmar Oliveira and Paul Kantor. She has given numerous concerts in the United States as a soloist.
As a runner-up, she received the sum of €10,000.00 from the City of Genoa. Stephanie Jeong also received the following special prizes: special prize of €2,000.00 offered by the "Associazione Amici di Paganini" for the best interpretation of Paganini's Concerto and special prize of €1,600.00 in memory of Maestro Mario Ruminelli offered by the Ruminelli family to the best-ranked finalist.
