30 young violinists admitted to the elimination round

4th july 2023 - Following the withdrawal of two contestants admitted to the elimination stage set to take place in Genoa on 17 and 18 October, here is the new list of the eligible candidates who obtained a mark of 70/100 or more in the Preselections.

In total, there are 16 young women and 14 young men, with 8 from China, 7 from Japan, 6 from South Korea, 2 from the USA, 2 Italians, and one each from Georgia, Germany, Netherlands, Taiwan and Sweden. The youngest is a Japanese violinist, aged just 18, with an average candidate age of 23.

26th of June 2023 - The alphabetical letter that determines the order of performance of the competitors during the Elimination Stage of the Competition was drawn at the location of the “Premio Paganini” in Genoa.

The letter extracted is letter V.

21 June 2023 - On World Music Day, the Paganini Competition is announcing the list of the 30 competing violinists admitted to the 57th edition of the competition, which will be starting on 16 October in Genoa's Palazzo Tursi, concluding on 27 October with the final event at Teatro Carlo Felice, on the 241st anniversary of the birth of the great Genoa violinist and composer.

Out of the 30 young violinists arriving in the capital city of Liguria for the elimination round, 7 are directly-admitted candidates, while 23 have gone through the pre-selections in the cities of Guangzhou, New York, Prague, Tokyo and, of course, Genoa.

In total, there are 16 young women and 14 young men, with 8 from China, 7 from South Korea, 5 from Japan, 3 from the USA, 2 Italians, and one each from Georgia, Germany, the Netherlands, Taiwan, China, and Sweden.
