Emil Chudnovsky was born on May 12th, 1970 in Moscow. He began his musical studies at the Mannes College of Music in New York and he then continued at the Juillard School and Manhattan School of Music, both in New York and at the University of Yale (New Haven). He started to hold concerts at the age of 11 as a soloist, his performance being broadcasted by the Uruguayan National Television.

He won the first prize at both the Curci XI International Violin Competition (Naples - 1991) and at the Young Artists of the National Federation of Music Clubs (New York - 1993). He was fifth at the “Premio Paganini” (1999) and at the Szeryng International Violin Competition (Mexico - 2000). He got the fourth prize at the Enescu International Violin Competition (Bucharest - 2001), occasion during which he was awarded with the special prizes “Ion Voicu” and “Musafia”.

In 1998 he founded the group “The Three Violinists” together with Andrei Haveron (England) and Florin Croitoru (Romania). He toured in Romania, Russia, Israel, Japan, Thailand, U.S.A, Italy, Chile, Canada, Brazil and took part in various radio and tv performances in different countries.
